He smelled of ladies’ powder. That’s what New York video artist Meredith Danluck thought when Michael Jackson wrapped an arm around her to pose for a photo. Earlier this year, more than 300 impersonators, fan-club presidents, and sobbing Japanese obsessives paid about $3,400 each to meet the King of Pop for approximately 30 seconds in Tokyo, and Danluck was there among them, covertly filming the star for her video, “Michael Jackson, Jesus Christ … Coca-Cola,†which opens at Renwick Gallery tomorrow.
