Julie White From ‘Cavemen’ Impossible to Place on Approval Matrix
We were a little taken aback when we first spotted glorious Tony winner Julie White in the pilot of ABC’s Cavemen. “I’m on a high-low cultural roller coaster,†she told us at the opening of Mauritius on Broadway last night, describing her career trajectory in a way that means it will be impossible to place her on the Approval Matrix. “I did Little Dog Laughed, then Transformers, and now I’m on Cavemen, and Michael Clayton is coming out. It’s like up and down, up and down.†White makes no apologies for Cavemen. “I did the pilot on a lark and then they asked me to come back as a series regular, so I thought, What the hell. I’ll do twelve. It came at a time when I really needed a laugh.†And like us, she’s picked a favorite: Nick Kroll. “I think we’re going to have a thing,†she said. A what? “A thing! A romantic thing! I play a lease lady, and I’m the mother of one of the girlfriends. So I’ll be like Mrs. Robinson meets Mrs. Roper from Three’s Company.†—Jada Yuan
