After the box-office success of Baby Mama, multiple Emmy wins for 30 Rock, and her wildly popular turn as Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live, Tina Fey’s career is so hot right now that publishers are bidding up to $6 million for the comedian to author a nonfiction humor book in the style of Nora Ephron. Fey, however, who is currently swamped with work on 30 Rock and will almost certainly turn up on SNL this weekend following this Thursday’s vice-presidential debate, has yet to write a proper proposal for the book or even take a meeting with publishers, who have been dealing entirely with her manager. Given Fey’s increasingly hectic schedule, perhaps the victorious publisher ought to have her ditch the comedic essay route and have the producer-writer-actress-mom write a self-help book about effective time management.
