Certainly you’ve heard about this by now, but on a slow morning, we’d be remiss if we didn’t bring you what very well may be the feel-good cultural story of the decade. Remember Wally Cleaver from Leave It to Beaver? No, he’s not been arrested for doing something terrible — for possibly the first time ever, there’s good news about a person who used to be on a sitcom: Tony Dow is an accomplished sculptor living in Los Angeles, and it’s just been announced that some of his artwork will be displayed at the Louvre next month! Dow’s Unarmed Warrior, a bronze statue of a woman holding a shield, is one of several sculptures from Beverly Hills’ Karen Lynne Gallery selected for inclusion in the museum’s annual three-day Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts exhibition next month. The sculpture can be seen here — it’s not bad! And that should fill our high-culture quota for today
