Will Smith Chooses Favorite Acting Offspring

Back in July, money-printing thespian Will Smith slaughtered his 8-year-old daughter, Willow, at the box office when his Hancock was released opposite her Kit Kittredge: An American Girl (“Daddy loves you, sweetie, but I gots to stomp you at the box office,†he said at the time). Will’s film scored an awe-inspiring $63 million in its opening weekend while Willow’s ham-fisted acting kept moviegoers away in droves (Kittredge earned a pathetic $3 million in its first three days of wide release). As it turns out, though, he doesn’t have bitter, ego-fueled beefs with all of his children — Vulture buddy Nikki Finke reports that Will specifically demanded that his Seven Pounds (out tomorrow) not hit theaters on the same day as The Day the Earth Stood Still, which came out last week and stars his 10-year-old son, Jaden. As if this weren’t already proof enough that Will loves Jaden more than Willow, during the making of Seven Pounds, he was apparently working below his abilities to ensure that the movie would make way less than Earth no matter when it opened.
