In the four seasons that Andy Samberg and his Lonely Island cohorts Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer have been on Saturday Night Live, the trio have been spectacularly successful at tackling virtually everything they decided to set their minds to. From their revolutionary digital shorts (over 100 million views for the trio of “Dick in a Boxâ€, “Jizz in My Pantsâ€, and “I’m on a Boatâ€) to their album (Incredibad has sold over 150,000 copies) to their work in feature film (we’re firmly in the “Hot Rod is underrated†camp), there’s no denying that the Lonely Island guys rank near the top of the list of breakout new media stars. But until last night’s episode of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, the one thing they really hadn’t done much of was performing live. Well, consider that milestone conquered; anytime you can get Black Thought to wear something you’d usually see on Captain Stubing, that’s victory in our book. Especially when you consider how many times those poor NBC censors had to click their “bleep†buttons.
