The Post’s Michael Riedel reports this morning that not one but two conservative shows are (maybe!) headed to Broadway: Jonathan Reynolds’s Girls in Trouble (Formerly Three Abortions), which apparently “questions a woman’s right to choose,†and Lionel Chetwynd’s Reagan, a one-man play that portrays the former president in a positive light and “offers a spirited defense of conservative principles.†According to Riedel, three Reagan-hating directors passed before 1776’s Peter Hunt signed on. So who should play the Gipper? Jeff Daniels is allegedly in the running, and Riedel is hoping for Alec Baldwin. We bet Frank Langella’s been mailed a script too. But man, wouldn’t Nathan Lane be perfect for this?
