Barnes & Noble Prepping What They Hope Will Be a Kindle-Killer

Behemoth book chain Barnes & Noble announced today that they have partnered with a company called Plastic Logic to develop an e-book reader similar to Amazon’s Kindle. Although the product won’t be out until sometime next year, it’s not too early to start wondering which scenario this will most closely resemble: Will it be like when the BlackBerry usurped the Palm Pilot, or closer to how the Zune totally failed to dent iPod business?
