Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 7 Promo Poster: Airplane Homage or Rip-off?

Despite the fact that Newman was cruelly Photoshopped off of the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly, our anticipation level for the seventh season of Curb Your Enthusiasm continues to climb in an unabated fashion. However, when we found ourselves in a subterranean subway stop this morning mopping our sweat-ridden brows, we noticed the promo poster you see above of Larry David relaxing on his therapist’s couch and, well, we immediately thought of the extraordinary means the old lady from Airplane took to get out of listening to another one of Ted Striker’s interminably boring stories. So, VultureWatchers, you make the call: Is the HBO promotions department knowingly paying homage to the Zucker, Abrahams, and Zucker classic, is it a blatant rip-off, or is it simply a coincidence? Also, on a semi-related note, does this mean Steve Coogan’s character has been killed off?
