The film, which was originally titled Pretend Wife, sees Sandler recruiting Aniston to play his fake wife in order to help him land the girl of his dreams. While Kidman’s role is a secret (exciting!), Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl Decker will play said “girl of Sandler’s dreams.†Expect Kidman to drop out when she finds out they have her playing Decker’s mom. Orange Appeal: Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester will star in the indie dramatic comedy The Oranges opposite House’s Hugh Laurie. The story, from a script by Jay Reiss and Ian Helfer, tells the tale of a man embarking on a romantic relationship with the daughter of a family friend, which “turns their lives upside down.†What would Dorota say, Blair, what would Dorota say? A Crowded Hall: Christina Applegate and Alyssa Milano have joined the cast of the Farrelly Brothers’ Hall Pass, which centers on two husbands who get “passes†from their wives to commit affairs. The duo joins a cast that already includes Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Jenna Fischer, Amanda Bynes, Stephen Merchant and J.B. Smoove. Applegate will play one of the two wives; you can try to win his favor by giving him a cheating pass, Christina, but even that won’t make him forget you were in the Squeakquel. [HR]
Brie Finds Bliss: Lucy Liu and Brie Larson (United States of Tara) will join Dexter’s Michael C. Hall in the indie drama East Fifth Bliss. Hall will play a man whose ordinary life unravels when he starts dating the 18-year-old daughter (Larson) of a former high school classmate. Chemistry Lesson: Writing team David Posamentier and Geoff Moore will make their directorial debut with Better Living Through Chemistry, from the script they wrote. A “character-driven dramedy†(are there any other kinds?), the story centers on a small-town pharmacist in a hopeless marriage, who finds new passion for life in an affair with a trophy wife who introduces him to prescription drugs. When they begin to plot her husband’s murder, things begin to crumble. This is for those of you wondering what would happen if Nurse Jackie moved to Wisteria Lane. [HR]
