Paul Schneider is leaving Parks and Recreation after this season, though he may return in a recurring role as city planner Mark Brendanawicz in the third season. Variety reports that Schneider’s film career meant his commitment to the show was partial from the beginning (although a look at his imdb.com page doesn’t reveal any upcoming movies). Anyway, this means the previously announced additions of Adam Scott and Rob Lowe make a lot more sense. So, with Scott booked as Amy Poehler’s love interest, does that mean Lowe will couple up with (assumably soon to be fictionally single) Rashida Jones? [Variety]
Update: Parks’ co-creator Mike Schur spoke to Show Tracker about the cast shake-up, explaining that it was always the plan for Brendanawicz to leave and return regularly, providing details on Scott and Lowe’s characters, and saying other generally interesting things.
