Let there be darkness! When the somewhat lurid graphic novel The Book of Genesis Illustrated by R. Crumb debuted last October, it was an instant sensation. Now fans have a chance to check out all 207 of the original pen-and-ink drawings laid out along the walls of David Zwirner gallery. The beloved illustrator’s work features a surprisingly literal interpretation of the Bible’s opening salvo, which includes plenty of thick-thighed depictions of Eve, a humanoid, limbed snake, and an ark brimming with Crumb-ian beasts. The show will be on view through April 24.
