Apple recently filed a patent that reveals the company might be working on a concert-ticketing system that would allow users to buy event passes in iTunes and redeem them by showing their iPhones at venues. If the company actually released such a thing, it would give them a shot at monopolizing both recorded and live music, and still nobody would complain, because Apple’s system would be sexier and way less terrible than Ticketmaster’s.
