Holy superhero-movie logjam, Batman! Warner Bros. just announced that Christopher Nolan’s followup to Dark Knight will hit theaters on July 20, 2012 — when it will presumably steal screens from Sony’s Marc Webb—directed 3-D Spider-Man reboot, previously scheduled for release on July 3, 2012. (According to Mike Fleming, Batman 3 is expected to be shot in three dimensions also.) How will multiplexes deal with the extra traffic? How will audiences divide their money? How will movie blogs handle two concurrent sets of casting rumors? The Mayans were right!
