After more than 400 performances and three different casts, God of Carnage will close on Broadway on June 27, the producers announced today. The show opened in March of 2009 with the starry foursome of Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini, and Marcia Gay Harden and went on to win the 2009 Tony for best play. In its third cast now (which includes Lucy Liu and Daniels in a different role), the show hasn’t been able to match the commercial success of the initial run. [NYT]
