There appears to be an appetite for Green Day on Broadway, as American Idiot is primed to become one of the success stories of the season. Variety is reporting the show’s sales have jumped 67 percent from the previous week, achieving a box office take of $777,860. Big names Kelsey Grammer and Nathan Lane are also faring well for themselves, as their shows - La Cage Aux Folles and The Addams Family, respectively - each saw larger audiences this past week, as well. Guess this means we shouldn’t be surprised when next spring brings us Matthew Broderick in a musical of all Coldplay songs. [Variety via EW]
