Vulture Learns the Location of Conan’s New Studio

If you’re a Conan O’Brien fan planning a trip out to sunny Burbank, California, next fall, a Warner Bros. studio tour is now essential. That’s because Vulture has learned the historic Warner’s lot is expected to be the home of O’Brien’s new TBS late-night show.

The decision is pretty logical: TBS is owned by Time Warner, which in turn owns Warner Bros. And the lot is already home to the network’s George Lopez late-night show (soon to be O’Brien’s after-hours partner) and Ellen DeGeneres’s syndicated daytime series.

O’Brien actually owns his new show, so he could’ve set it up anywhere. And indeed, there had been talk that perhaps Coco might end up back in his recently vacated NBC studio on the Universal lot. After all, NBC spent tens of millions to build the new home, which has been vacant since January (the Conan Wi-Fi signal still works, however. Don’t ask how we know that, but we do).

But while it might’ve made business sense for both NBC and Conan to do a deal, in the end, choosing Warner’s seemed to be the best solution (and probably made the most financial sense).

O’Brien will officially begin promoting his new TBS show Wednesday, when he (briefly) interrupts his national tour to appear at the Turner upfront presentation and lunch in New York.
