Judd Apatow has come aboard to produce Business Trip, a comedy about three women who go on a corporate trip but wind up doing anything but business while on company time; Apatow’s wife, Leslie Mann, is attached to star. Universal bought the pitch from freshman screenwriter Stacey B. Harman a year ago, and if it sounds like a XX-chromosome version of The Hangover, that might be because Harman is managed by Benderspink, the production-management company that executive produced last summer’s sleeper comedy hit.
This will keep Apatow busy, as usual. He’s producing Kristin Wiig’s comedy Bridesmaids, also at Universal, and is now casting his next directorial effort as well as David Wain’s Wanderlust, which will star Apatow regular Paul Rudd along with Jennifer Aniston, with a September start planned.
