The Television Critics Association Awards has announced its nominees, showing lots of love for freshman series Modern Family and Glee. Family received a leading five nominations, including best comedy series and best program of the year, as well as acting nods for Ty Burrell (Phil) and Eric Stonestreet (Cameron). Glee and Breaking Bad scored four nominations apiece. While relatively new shows Sons of Anarchy, Parks and Recreation, and The Good Wife were singled out with multiple nominations (yay, Ron Swanson!), Emmy faves Mad Men and 30 Rock were almost completely overlooked (though Mad Men did earn a best drama nod). (Also, probably not worth stressing over, but the fact that Friday Night Lights is up for best program but somehow didn’t make the cut for best drama is … strange.)
