In yet another profile of Rob Pattinson in which he wears his weariness so well, the actor bemoans the Twilight phenomenon:
“Mr. Pattinson was not particularly eager to chat for the quadrillionth time about Edward Cullen. ‘It can get a little boring,’ he said softly over coffee at the Four Seasons hotel, referring both to playing an unchanging vampire and to chewing over the Cultural Importance of It All. ‘The good news is that the whole thing is done in seven months.’â€
He’s off by about a year, but Pattinson continues: “I’ve learned to let it go a bit, but I’m still really bothered by it … The more you are exposed, the more people irrationally hate you.â€
The Times then wonders: Will Pattinson’s superstardom lead him the way of Leonardo DiCaprio … or Christopher Atkins? (Remember him? No? Exactly.) In any case, with Eclipse out June 30, Pattinson had better get used to talking about vampires.
