The upstart premium cable channel Starz has pretty much resurrected Torchwood, a BBC science-fiction series that had been left in limbo following a miniseries that killed off a majority of its cast and a failed attempt to reinvent the program for Fox in the United States. The show, which is a spinoff of the Doctor Who franchise starring John Barrowman as an immortal bisexual investigator of extraterrestrial life on Earth, will return next summer on Starz in the U.S. and on the BBC in the U.K. Hopefully by then you won’t be burned out on all those other shows about immortal bisexual alien investigators.
