First Look at Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere Delights With Minimal Dialogue

The official trailer for Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere has surfaced, and it’s a lovely, mostly dialogue-free clip, reminiscent in mood to the trailer for Marie Antoinette, Coppola’s most recent film. Stephen Dorff (in what looks like it could be a Rourke-esque “comeback†role) plays a worn-down actor living in the Chateau Marmont who gets an unexpected visit from his 11-year-old daughter (a startlingly grown-up Elle Fanning). The old man–young woman dynamic definitely evokes Lost in Translation — and that’s fine by us. And as if this montage isn’t wonderful enough, the reminder of the Phoenix soundtrack at the end is like an added cherry on top.
