Saw Franchise Comes to an End

Saw VII, the upcoming 3-D installment of the horror-movie series, will be the franchise’s last. (Or at least until someone decides to reboot it in a decade.) One of the more dedicated practitioners of torture porn, the Saw movies have made over $730 million since 2004, established evil villain Jigsaw as an all-time bad guy, and filmed a man cutting off his own leg. The series will end in a blaze of gore: Saw VII was submitted to the MPAA six times in order to go from an NC-17 to an R rating, and a producer says, “I’m surprised we got it. It’s more violent than any of them.†Expect body parts to land in your lap. [USAT]
