Imagine for a second that you are a young woman who has been institutionalized against her will, and both to cope and plot her escape has developed a rich fantasy life. What do you think the chances are that said fantasy life would involve you working in a brothel with five other women, all dressed in skimpy, militaristic outfits, while you battled bad guys, dragons, machines, B-52s, and samurai with big guns, swords, and your fists? In other words, what are the chances your fantasy life would resemble a Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300) movie? (This is related to another question of recent note: What are the chances your dreams would resemble a Christopher Nolan action movie?) The ludicrousness of the premise acknowledged, enjoy a few of the more gonzo moments — there are dragons, after all, not to mention, musical numbers — from the quick-cutting trailer for Sucker Punch, Snyder’s upcoming movie of this premise. It’s the “Alice in Wonderland with machine guns†you didn’t know you were waiting for.
