Boom! No, not really. But Practical Magic, one of those totally middling late-nineties movies that garnered mediocre box-office receipts and generally poor reviews but has managed to stay in the public consciousness anyway, could become a TV show for ABC Family, twelve years after it hit theaters. Warner Bros. is in the very early stages of rebooting the film, which starred Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock as sisters and witches with a unique and troubling problem: If they find true love with a man, he tragically dies. The Hollywood Reporter astutely notes, “If Practical Magic successfully debuts on ABC Family, it will join a legacy of Witch TV titles such as Charmed, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and, of course, Bewitched.†We are rooting for this one!
