There are few constants in the Bourne franchise these days — Matt Damon hasn’t committed to a fourth film, and director Paul Greengrass has no interest in returning — but loyalty has paid off for screenwriter Tony Gilroy, who wrote the first three Bourne movies. Deadline is reporting that Gilroy has been hired to direct the fourth film, which he’s already been scripting; the plan is now to move ahead whether Matt Damon wants to commit himself or not.
