The CW handed out three full-season orders today, to freshmen shows Hellcats and Nikita, and to long-running soap One Tree Hill. Nikita, starring Maggie Q as the eponymous heroine, premiered to strong ratings (3.6 million viewers) and has since become the network’s second-most-watched show after The Vampire Diaries. (Even so, EW recently reported it would be undergoing some girl-friendly tweaks.) Hellcats has also performed solidly for the network, averaging 2.5 million viewers and doing a better job holding on to lead-in America’s Next Top Model’s audience than any other CW show before it. The one CW show still twisting in the wind is Life Unexpected: The network recently ordered two additional scripts, but has yet to pick up the back nine.
