Last week, the Coen Brothers released a teaser trailer for their adaptation of True Grit, and we saw that it was good. Today, the pair release a much longer trailer of the Oscar-contending, cold-weather revenge Western, and again: It is good. No new plot is revealed here — young girl seeks to hunt down her father’s killer (Josh Brolin) with help of drunk, eye-patched Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges) and a beautifully mustachioed La Boeuf (Matt Damon) — but we do get to see more of Bridges, Damon, Brolin, and newbie Hailee Steinfeld in action. Among the good things herein: Bridges being unexpectedly woken up; the Coen Brothers’ continued exploration of interesting haircuts with Brolin’s wild man do; the Johnny Cash soundtrack; a self-satisfied Damon making a bad joke (“I thought you were gonna say the sun was in your eyes. That is, your eyeâ€); and a bear riding a horse (probably a man wearing a bear riding a horse). Anyway, we’re in.
