Actor and overachieving MFA student James Franco is in talks to play Linda Lovelace pornographer Chuck Traynor in a new biopic about Lovelace that’s potentially starring Kate Hudson. This isn’t the troubled Lovelace film — that’s Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story starring Malin Ackerman — but rather a new project from Howl directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman. The film, titled simply Lovelace, is based on Eric Danville’s book The Complete Linda Lovelace. Traynor was Lovelace’s husband when she starred in Deep Throat, and Lovelace later accused him of coercing her into pornography and prostitution. Franco’s already got two directing gigs and a Broadway role — along with those aforementioned master’s programs — and a gig hosting the Oscars on his plate. [Deadline]
