The Office isn’t quite over even though Steve Carell is leaving: Will Ferrell’s signed on to guest-star on several episodes, playing a branch manager who visits Scranton from Dunder Mifflin’s home office. Ferrell’s character has committed to staying on for at least one episode past Carell’s exit, and may help close out the show’s seventh season. “We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star,†quipped Office executive producer Paul Lieberstein. “We are proud to continue The Office’s tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they’ll see what we see: tremendous raw sexuality.†[Deadline]
