Seth MacFarlane can go ahead and buy that eighth home he was thinking about: Fox has just renewed the scribe’s American Dad for a seventh season. Because animated shows on Fox have such long lead times, this means the politically tinged Dad will remain on the air through the 2012–13 TV season, allowing producers to start planning out a cameo appearance from President Romney. Fox is still weighing a decision on a second season for its newest toon, the underrated Bob’s Burgers. The network quietly ordered extra scripts for the show last fall, but should decide whether to move forward with production on those by May.
