After turning down countless studio action movies — including The Green Lantern and Paramount’s rebooted Jack Ryan series — Ryan Gosling is finally ready to play the big-budget studio game. Deadline reports that the actor has signed on to star in a remake of Logan’s Run, which will be directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, who just shot Drive with the actor. Refn will replace other directors who have been developing the project, including Bryan Singer and Carl Erik Rinsch; though Singer’s version of the futuristic tale hewed closer to William F. Nolan’s original book — in which citizens were executed upon turning 21 — Refn will raise that age to 30 (Gosling’s age as of November). [Deadline]
