HBO’s unusual comedy Eastbound & Down felt like it was having a cultural moment when it returned last year for its second season, but according to star Danny McBride, that moment is likely to be short-lived: Season three will be the show’s last. “We never really had an interest in turning the show into anything traditional,†McBride said at a Paley Center panel for the show yesterday. “We approach each season like it’s one long movie.†(And the fact that McBride is now a big-screen star couldn’t have hurt: He’s got Your Highness and 30 Minutes or Less coming this year). Still, you’ve got plenty of time to grieve, since the final season won’t begin airing until early 2012. [Inside TV/EW]
