Well this is a neat idea. Starting tonight, NBC is going to be posting longer versions of Parks and Rec online, featuring more scenes and such that they couldn’t fit in the broadcast versions. Friday mornings at 2am EST, they’ll put these guys online, which seem like they’d be worth waiting to watch instead of the broadcast versions. There will be Producer’s Cuts for four episodes, and here’s the schedule:It’s a pretty cool idea, and a great way to use the web to cater to fans. I mean, who’s gonna complain about even more Parks and Rec? Certainly not me.
One thing that’s not clear: whether or not these will be available on Hulu or Hulu Plus. This sort of thing, if done with more shows and on the regular, would be a huge selling point for Hulu Plus, no? I’ve asked NBC about this and will update when I hear back. Update: Yep, they should be on Hulu as well.
