Finally, a lawsuit we can all just sit back and enjoy: Quentin Tarantino, who lives next door to Six Feet Under and True Blood capo Alan Ball and his partner Peter Macdissi, is suing both for installing an “exotic bird menagerie†full of extremely loud macaws on their property. The birds reside in a structure on Ball and Macdissi’s land, where, Tarantino alleges, they emit “blood-curdling†screams for seven to eight hours a day, interfering with his ability to work. But it gets better! The papers Tarantino’s lawyer filed have a certain Tarantino-esque way with adjectives (and also, quote Goethe: “He is the happiest, be he king or peasant who finds peace in his home.â€) To wit!
“On a daily basis Defendant’s Macaws, large tropical birds known for their loud squawks and screams, are placed in an outdoor aviary where they emit blood-curdling screams at random intervals for 7 to 8 hours each day. Nearly every day, Mr. Tarantino and others in his home are subjected to the Macaws obnoxious pterodactyl-like screams, which are not only startling, but have also seriously disrupted Mr. Tarantino’s ability to work as a writer in his home.
“[Ball and Macdissi] know that their birds issue blood-curdling, prehistoric sounding screams, they do not maintain the macaws in their residence, but place them in an outdoor aviary. Though one might assume that, as a fellow writer, Mr. Ball would understand and respect a writer’s need for peace and quiet while he is working, that assumption would be wrong.
We spot the glimmerings of a screenplay!
