Deadline announced yesterday that Daily Show’s Aasif Mandvi scored a book deal with Chronicle. The book of semi-autobiographical essays by the Middle East correspondent will include, among other topics, a story about a young Indian boy’s pursuit of the American dream: becoming The Fonz. Let it be a reminder for those of us who take it for granted; “jumping the shark†isn’t just a turn of phrase. It’s our right as citizens of the greatest country in the world. Aaay!
