Ryan Murphy often used his last foray into FX programming, Nip/Tuck, to give juicy guest roles to famous actresses in their sixties like Catherine Deneuve, Jill Clayburgh, and Jacqueline Bisset. Now, he’s hoping to do the same for Jessica Lange: TV Line reports that the actress has signed on to Murphy’s FX pilot American Horror Story, where she’ll play the nosy neighbor to Connie Britton and her yet-to-be-cast husband. Lest you think that such a stock supporting role isn’t quite worthy of Lange, who recently won an Emmy for Grey Gardens, the producers are rewriting the pilot to beef up the character. (And Lange did sing in that HBO miniseries, so if she’s got some downtime, Murphy could always use her on Glee.) [TV Line]
