As previously elucidated, Beyoncé’s upcoming album, 4, doesn’t really have any singles. (Nitsuh Abebe offers a pretty good reason as to why here.) So how’s her label, Columbia, feeling about this? Says a “Page Six†source: “They’re very nervous … It doesn’t have the hit songs that her fans are used to. They asked her to make changes, but she said no.†Plausible! But, from some other person: “Beyoncé’s career has stalled a bit. Columbia seems to think they can get some mileage out of a comeback record with [Destiny’s Child].†Wait. What? No. That is not a thing that’s happening. And from yet some other person: “[Kelly Rowland] has her own solo career now, why would she want to be singing back up for Beyoncé?†Stop it. So, in conclusion: 4 still doesn’t have any singles; Bey’s career is just fine, thanks; and Kelly Rowland, despite her surprising recent chart presence, is not too famous to sing back up for Beyoncé.
