Here’s a weird combo of people working on a project together: John Carney, the director of the indie musical Once, is working on a new project called Can a Song Save Your Life? that’s being produced by Judd Apatow. And he just cast Scarlett Johansson as the female lead. The plot: “Set in New York, the film tells the story of a washed-up A&R man who forms a passionate bond with a young singer-songwriter (Johansson) from out of town.†Apparently Jim Carrey and Mark Ruffalo are both rumored for the male lead.
