Odd-couple buddy comedy time! Brendan Gleeson is a high-level, if not particularly awe-inspiring, cop in small-town Western Ireland. Don Cheadle is an FBI agent who comes across the Atlantic to help catch a gang of big-time criminals. Cue a large number of jokes about how Irish people are racist (so also a large number of racist jokes). Cheadle’s the accomplished straight man, trying to get something done in this wacky Irish world; Gleeson’s the off-kilter one, alternating between being very stupid and accidentally smart. There’s a good spaghetti Western soundtrack, and it seems likely the full-length movie lands a few jokes that aren’t based on racial humor — though one can’t be sure, as they are entirely missing from this trailer.
