We admit that the Snow White movie standoff brewing next year has gotten the lion’s share of our attention, but we’re happy to report that we have yet another film competition to track: The battle of the Linda Lovelace movies is back on! When last we checked in, Matthew Wilder had replaced Lindsay Lohan with Malin Akerman for his Lovelace biopic Inferno, while directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman were wooing Kate Hudson and James Franco for Lovelace, their own take on the famous porn star. The latter project appeared to fall by the wayside when Hudson became pregnant, but Olivia Wilde tells E! that she may assume the title role: “It would be a tremendous honor. It’s such a cool role. She was a fascinating woman — with where she came from to Deep Throat to then working with Gloria Steinem and Nora Ephron.†If Franco is still attached to play Lovelace’s manager-husband Chuck Traynor, this version will have the other beat on cheekbones alone.
