In an interview with the Times, Lorne Michaels said that he’s already selected Baldwin to host Saturday Night Live’s season premiere this fall. It’ll be his sixteenth stab at the job, thus catapulting him ahead of arch nemesis and prior equal Steve Martin in the SNL pantheon. Of course, we can probably expect Martin to crash Baldwin’s historic night with a cameo during the opening monologue, because, well, we’ve seen it happen 30 times before. [NYT]
