Indie ingenue Brit Marling (Should we try to make “indiegenue†happen? No? Okay) recently turned down the chance to join Steven Soderbergh’s stripper-rific Magic Mike in the hopes of mounting her own production, and it looks like she chose wisely and has some good consolation beefcake to show for it. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard is in talks to star opposite Marling in The East, which the actress co-wrote with director Zal Batmanglij; if his deal completes, Skarsgard would play the charismatic leader of an ecoterrorist group infiltrated by Marling’s undercover agent. It’s blond-on-blond espionage! [Heat Vision/THR]
