The CW is developing a show called Extreme Musical Chairs. Musical chairs! They’re making a show based on musical chairs. Musical chairs. This “extreme†version will “transform the popular children’s game into a physically demanding competition with multiple rounds of elimination set in an indoor obstacle course,†according to Variety, which means it’s not musical chairs in the clinical sense of the term? That’s a relief — no one wants a real musical chairs show — but it’s also a puzzle, because why would you call your show Extreme Musical Chairs when you could clearly just call it American Gladiators Freeze Dance?
