Comedians Occupy Wall Street Too

Here’s comedian Lee Camp performing stand-up at Occupy Wall Street - or maybe it’s more like half stand-up, half rallying cry. As the protest grows, more comedians are becoming involved, with Mike Myers walking with protesters and numerous comedians Tweeting their support.

The image of the comedian stirring up serious political action brings to mind the mix of politics and comedy at last year’s Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. Having grown up in a Daily Show culture, this generation definitely seems to be embracing comedy as a political tool. And making fun of the Jonas Brothers can be a very, very powerful tool.
