Disney announced that it will partner with Russia’s state-run Channel One to create Posle Shkoly (After School), a project comprised of a TV series and 3-D movie about the “true-to-life†adventures of high school students. Both productions will be directed by Andrey Boltenko, whose past credits include the final ceremony of the 2009 Eurovision contest, which took place in Moscow, and Dmitry Medvedev’s 2008 inauguration. Each episode of the show, which is described as a dramedy, will include two cover versions of popular Soviet and Russian songs, ten of which will be featured on the film’s soundtrack. So, just imagine Glee, but in Russian and with more propaganda? [THR]
