Don Johnson Joins Django Unchained

Don Johnson.

Seventies icon Don Johnson has signed on to play a bad guy in Quentin Tarantino’s “Southern-fried spaghetti Western,†Django Unchained. Like Leonardo DiCaprio and Kevin Costner replacement Kurt Russell, Johnson will portray a villainous plantation staffer. Reportedly, the casting decision is the result of a months-long courtship between the actor and Tarantino, who is — unsurprisingly — a Miami Vice fan. Apparently, Johnson initially turned down the role, though it seems he came around after devoting some real thought to what Pulp Fiction did for John Travolta. [Variety]
