Steven Spielberg has lined up another president for his soon-to-shoot biopic Lincoln. Variety reports that Mad Men’s Jared Harris has joined the movie’s impressive cast, and he’ll be playing Ulysses S. Grant, the Civil War general who ascended to the White House in 1869, four years after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln (played by Daniel Day-Lewis). Yes, that means that Spielberg has cast two Brits to play American presidents, but since Harris will soon be seen in the Sherlock Holmes sequel, which features Robert Downey Jr. as one of the most famous characters in all of British literature, we guess it evens out.
