Are you ready to return to Middle-earth? The highly anticipated trailer has debuted for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first installment of Peter Jackson’s two-part Lord of the Rings prequel, and it’s an agreeably low-key teaser when you keep in mind the epic scope of the project and the even more epic expectations from J.R.R. Tolkien fans. Ian McKellen returns as Gandalf, this time drafting Martin Freeman as young Bilbo Baggins for an epic adventure that has some of the old familiar faces (like Cate Blanchett’s Galadriel and Andy Serkis as Gollum) but way, way more dwarves. You’d better start learning all their names! Press play and enjoy – as long as you’re not Guillermo del Toro.
