NBC and the NFL are very disappointed that M.I.A. (so many acronyms already!) made a middle-finger gesture during Madonna’s Super Bowl performance, but how does Madge herself feel about the incident? “I was really surprised,†Madonna said on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning. “I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy and positivity, it seemed negative. It’s such a teenager, irrelevant thing to do.†Added Madonna, who has certainly never done anything obscene in front of a crowd, “What was the point? It was just out of place.â€
